This is a reminder that submissions for the C. Eugene Cato Memorial Scholarship Award will be due online by January 19, 2018.
In an effort to reward the achievements of Indiana’s complete student-athletes, the IHSAA, Methodist Sports Medicine, the Indianapolis Colts, Sport Graphics, Inc., WTHR-13, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever have partnered in sponsoring the C. Eugene Cato Memorial Scholarship Awards. Each year, a minimum of 13 seniors are chosen from applicants throughout the state to receive a $2,500 scholarship for their high school accomplishments.
These recipients are Indiana’s brightest stars and they embody everything that is right about high school sports. These well-rounded, positive role models have demonstrated excellence in academics, school and community involvement, character, sportsmanship and citizenship.
The online application for the C. Eugene Cato Memorial Scholarship Award must be received electronically by the IHSAA office by January 19, 2018. Recipients will be honored on April 19, 2018 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis as part of the Thomas A. Brady, M.D. Sports Achievement Awards Dinner which has been established by the Methodist Sports Medicine Research and Education Foundation. For more information and to access the C. Additionally, if your school has a student-athlete that meets the criteria for the Thomas A. Brady, MD Comeback Award, that nomination form and instructions can be found here and must be completed online by February 21st, 2018.
