Game Recap

playing the tall and talented #1 lafayette central catholic was a very tall task for the lady trojans. We were only down 16-14 in the first set before they went on a 8 point run to put the set out of reach. Shalyn McCorkle 7 kills 21 serves received, 19 digs 2 blocks, Cayleigh Malson, 1 kill, 5 serves received, 5 digs; Katie Tentler, 2 serves received, 4 digs, 6 serving points; Kortlyn Fernung, 12 assists, 3 digs; Carinne Hendreson 5 serves reiceived, 8 digs, 1 kill, Jaide Cassity 3 kills; Balee Parsons 4 serves received, 13 digs Shawna Carter 1 kill 1 block. I was proud of the season the three seniors (Sha, Katie, Cayleigh) had and they will be missed next season. It is a shame that the non-private single A schools, that have less than 150 girls to draw from , must compete against a team that can draw from over 3000 girls in the lafayette area.

Game Recap

Shalyn McCorkle 13 kills, 17 serves received, 1 block 8 digs 10 serving points; Katie TEntler 7 serves receptions, 9 digs; Cayleigh Malson 10 serves received, 3 digs; Kortlyn Fernung 19 assists, 10 serving points, 3 aces, ; Carinne Henderson 4 kills, 21 serves received, 5 digs,; Jaide Cassity 1 kill Balee Parsons 18 serves received, 11 digs. A very intense and exciting county rivalry match. I was very pleased with the way wwe played against a very good and much taller Tipton team. A couple of plays either way and the first two sets could have been different. This is a good sign that we are playing our best at the end of the season. It has been a pleasure to coach Shalyn, Cayleigh and Katie (seniors) the last 4 years.

Game Recap

The Tri-Central Trojans Boys Varsity Soccer team ended their 2017 season on Monday with the Sectional game at Taylor High School. TC played the Taylor Titans and lost in the first round 2-7. The first half was the only half either team scored, with Taylor leading off less than one minute in the game. TC replied with the next point when Senior Nathan Mast scored, with an assist by Senior Tom Fennell.

Taylor scored 6 more times, and TC posted another goal scored by Senior Trent Shaffer, assisted by Tom Fennell. Taylor took 15 shots on goal, scoring 7. Luke Baird had 4 saves, while TC took 3 shots on goal. There was one Yellow Card on TC for the half.

Second half was very competitive with neither team scoring. Sophomore Riley Jones played in the goal for the entire half, and had 8 saves on 15 shots from Taylor. Freshman Chandler Vanosdol playing Defender had a save as well. TC took 3 shots.

The team only had 11 players for the game, as injuries and sickness had removed the others from play. We were joined on the bench with 3 of our injured players, Juniors Austin DeVore and Tucker Shaffer, and Freshman Justin Dyer.

Thanks to the coaching staff, Head Coach Dave Mast, Assistants Luke Richardson, Kevin Vanosdol and Ryan Jones.
