TC Boys Soccer played their season opening game at home on Thursday against Anderson’s Liberty Christian co-ed team. The team opened with a hard first half with LC scoring a goal 6 minutes into the game. TC replied with its own goal by Senior Jordan Schmidt 16 minutes into the game. Neither side scored the rest of the 1st half. TC took 3 additional attempts, with LC taking 13 shots. Senior Alex Porter was goal keeper 1st half and had 11 saves, with Junior Chandler Vanosdol adding a save.
2nd Half opened with rough play from the opposing team. Junior Connor Hight started in the goal, but had to bow out after 8 minutes after a collision in the knee. Porter stepped back in for 7 minutes until Connor rejoined the lineup. LC scored a goal 14 1/2 minutes into the game, and followed up with another 30 seconds later. Two more goals were scored by LC in the 2nd half. Liberty Christian took 15 shots, landing 4 goals for the half. TC was not able to get any shots in. Saves for the 2nd half included 2 saves for Connor Hight, and 3 for Alex Porter in the goal, with Chandler Vanosdol adding one more.
It was a hard played game, with rough play, but the guys are looking good and looking forward to Saturday’s game at Mississinnewa H.S.
